Currently Loving for Spring

The standout pieces I’m loving right now - easy layers, great color, and lots of mix and match potential.

Spring at The Youngsters is one of my favorite resets of the year.
It’s when heavy layers come off. When color comes back in. When kids are outside longer, moving more, and dressing like themselves again.

As a children’s boutique focused on kids clothing and everyday comfort, I always think about spring in terms of movement. What can they run in? What can they spill in? What still looks sweet in photos but feels easy breezy?

Here are my personal picks for the season. Pieces that feel playful, wearable, and ready for warmer days ahead.

Let’s Talk Dresses

I’m looking for softness, shape, and something that feels just a little nostalgic when it comes to twirly styles for our little ladies.

The François Dress from Hello Simone is one of those pieces that works for everything. School days, family dinners, spring photos. It has structure without being stiff and feels polished, but also completely wearable.

The Rayee Dress from Emile et Ida feels playful and oh so fresh. It’s the kind of dress that makes spring feel official. Just add your favorite sneakers, and you’re good to go.

Tees & Light Layers

Spring weather often means layering (yes, still). Mornings are cool, afternoons are warm, and evenings are typically chilly once again. An easy solve for in between weather days? A great graphic tee paired with a nice, lightweight sweatshirt over top.

Equal parts retro and nostalgic, the Pickles the Dog Sleeveless Sweatshirt from Bobo Choses is the coolest.  Offering a loose and relaxed fit, you'll appreciate the room to layer underneath should you need.  And in an always classic grey?  This style truly plays well with everything.

The Number One Sweatshirt from The Campamento is the perfect transitional layer. Soft, relaxed in fit, and easy to throw over your little one’s favorite tops or dresses.

The Giverny Tee from Tiny Cottons is unstructured and perfectly unisex. Perhaps simple in design, the nostalgic feel of this style is what makes it so fun to mix and match.

The Sleeveless T-Shirt from Piupiuchick is incredibly cute and easy to layer over top if needed. I love the sweet graphic, and boxy fit!

The Everyday Bottoms

When it comes to spring bottoms for kids, I prioritize stretch, durability, and versatility. Investing in just a few key, quality styles here will take you right through the season.

Every little one needs a great biker short in their rotation and this season we’re swooning over the Small Flowers Biker Shorts from The Campamento. The sweet, colorful print makes this style incredibly fun to mix and match.

Also from The Campamento, the Blue Stripes Washed Trousers are one of my absolute favorites for Spring. The fit is loose and relaxed, the stripe feels wonderful and worn in. These are truly the party pants you can pair with anything!

Yes it’s true, the Farm Adventure Woven Shorts from Bobo Choses are part of a darling set, but we are here for the mixing and matching potential too. A fun one to pair with your favorite graphic tee or sweatshirt, this fun shorts style offers a relaxed fit the kiddos crave.

These Chambray Trousers from Emile et Ida are an absolute dream. Considered a neutral and with a sweet ruffled flare hem the girls love, this lightweight pant style looks precious with a tee, tank - you name it.

Accessories (My Favorite)

No spring wardrobe feels complete without something extra fun to complete the look, am I right?

Shield those tiny eyes from the sun with a great cap! The Pixel Daisy Twill Cap from Bobo Choses is such a fun addition to any spring look - adjustable, bendable brim, and extra cute.

Sign us up for anything varsity-inspired. The Striped Socks from Piupiuchick offer comfort in an exciting pop color combination I am loving.

How We’re Thinking About Spring

At The Youngsters, this season isn’t about chasing trends. It’s about refreshing your child’s wardrobe with the addition of pieces that will actually get wear time.

Fewer pieces. Better quality. More play.

If you’re on the hunt for spring styles for your kiddos that balance comfort and personality, these are my go-to picks for the season.

The Season of Cool: Spring’s Defining Hues

Spring doesn’t show up all at once. It moves in gradually. A little brighter. A little lighter. A little more playful. This season, the standout palette is clear: Water-forward blues and greens. From deep, saturated hues to lighter, washed tones - this palette mirrors the shift of the season. Crisp whites. Tidal blues.  Fresh cut grass.

Building a Capsule Wardrobe for Baby

When you’re building your baby’s wardrobe, it’s easy to end up with drawers full of clothes that barely get worn. Between growth spurts, spit-ups, snack mishaps, and multiple outfit changes before you’ve even finished your coffee, babies really don’t need dozens of complicated outfits.
